Student Midwife

Saychelle is an intuitive, kindhearted non binary student midwife with one kiddo, Zeke,

born at home. Saychelle is proud to be part of a large Caribbean family originally from New

York City and Miami, Florida. Although new to New Mexico Saychelle is creating sustainable

relationships in their ancestral, chosen community. In addition to their overall midwifery work

they particularly enjoy working with queer families.

They began attending births as a doula in 2007, and as a birth assistant in 2017. Saychelle

has attended over fifty births at home, in hospitals, even out in nature, in Utah and on Hawaii’s

big island. They studied at Birthwise Midwifery School, and did trainings with Body Ready

Method, and Spinning Babies. Saychelle holds a BA in English literature. Saychelle is also a

licensed massage therapist specializing in pregnancy massage. Their other skills include

placental encapsulation, Limpias, (spiritual cleansings), and bone closing ceremonies.
